A small thing (Ուլունք)
Ooloonk takes its name from the Armenian word for a bead.
Perhaps that is where it began: with the idea that small things can travel far. A bead carried across borders. A piece of silver worn for years. A gesture, a memory, an object that remains close to the body and quietly gathers meaning.
We are two sisters working between Amsterdam and Yerevan, creating handcrafted sterling silver jewelry with makers whose work deserves recognition. Their hands shape each piece; their knowledge remains within it.
Armenia has a long history of jewelry making, of working patiently with metal and stone, of understanding that craft is something accumulated over time. We are interested in preserving that connection between the maker and the object, allowing the traces of the process to remain visible.
Made Slowly
Partly because we are a small business, and partly because we believe some things are better when they are not rushed. Small production allows us to stay close to the process, to the people who make the jewelry, and to the details that give each piece its character.
Every piece is crafted in sterling silver and made to be worn often, not kept away for special occasions.
Silver changes slowly. It darkens, brightens, gathers marks. It remembers contact. We are drawn to objects that do not resist time, but move with it.
The pieces we wear become part of our daily rituals. They accompany us through ordinary days, unfamiliar cities, conversations, departures, returns. Over time, they carry traces of those moments.
